2013 Topps Museum Collection Football Cards Box Break Recap And Review

Topps has taken a winning formula from Baseball and created Museum Collection for Football. In what has been a rather soft year for Football cards due to the Rookie centric nature of most releases, Museum Collection debuts with a shorten production run which has led to a more balanced checklist and lowered numbered cards. With Museum Collection’s marquee sharp design and a variety of really nice looking hits, it could be the surprise success of the 2013 release season.

Museum Collection fits nicely into our Premium Cards category.  Each Master Box contains 4 mini-boxes with 5 cards per mini, with 1 autograph or relic card per mini box.

Here are the cards we pulled from our box.

NaVarro Bowman Signature Series Auto Copper Parallel #/50 Redemption
DeAndre Hopkins Jumbo Patch Autograph #/20

Overall Look
These base cards are sharp with stylish bordering along with some great looking backs as well. The entire set, from base cards to hits, carries the theme of Museum Collection all the way through.

Quality and Variety of Players
The checklist is very well balanced to remove the inherent risk of this year’s rookie class, adding enough veteran and NFL greats to make a larger percentage of the hits very desirable.  This is somewhat of an anomaly, as most Football products tend to be completely rookie centric but a reduced production run provides for a product with a good percentage of big hits to be pulled.

Do the Hits satisfy?
There are some big hits to be pulled.  With on card autographs, dual autos and auto relics of some of the NFL legends available, there is a lot of good that can come out of these boxes.  There are a slew of 1/1s from laundry tags to NFL Shields to logo swatches.  Collectors will also enjoy Pro Bowl relics which are identified as items from the 2013 AFC/NFC Pro Bowl like the Reggie Wayne card we pulled.

Will you keep coming back for more?
Museum Collection falls in line with expectations of a high risk, high reward product, maybe even leaning towards exceeding expectations.  There is enough here to entice collectors to make additional purchases.  Buying by the case seems to be a better proposition if you are looking to increase your chances of hitting it big.  But a word of caution, if you intend to buy, make your purchase early. If any 2013 Football product has potential to run out, this would be the one.

2013 Topps Museum Collection Football is worthy of its name.
